One of Brooks River's most experienced mothers, now on her fourth known litter.

Ladies and gentlemen, a heavyweight of motherhood. First identified as a 4.5-year-old in 2009, 132 has grown into one of the largest and most experienced mothers at Brooks River, and this summer that experience got tested. In mid-July, one of her three spring cubs went missing. Nobody saw how. For several days the cub wandered the river corridor alone, approaching other families only to be ignored or chased away, and the longer the separation lasted, the greater the risk.

132 kept guarding and feeding the two cubs still at her side. Then, after several days apart, mother and cub reunited in the lower Brooks River area. Maybe a little luck. Maybe a veteran who knows where her cubs are safest. (Spot her by the chevron of fur on her forehead.) Believed to be the mother of fellow contender 806, 132 makes her Fat Bear Week debut with the full litter back in formation. Can experience carry this reunion all the way to the salmon wreath?
